Ryan was born and raised in Sweetwater, TN, a town 40 miles south of Knoxville. Ryan felt called to the ministry at age 19 but fully surrendered to the call in October of 2015. He attended college at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education. He spent the next couple years teaching Social Studies in local private schools.

While at Tennessee Tech, he met his wife, Rebekah. She was born and raised in Dickson and grew up a member of FBC. After graduating Tennessee Tech in December 2005, Ryan and Rebekah were married in May 2006. They moved to Dickson in 2008, and in 2009 Ryan began to attend The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary based in Louisville, KY. He graduated in December of 2013 with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies.

He has served in several ministry capacities including 10 years in Sunday School Education and Discipleship Ministries. 

Ryan and Rebekah have 3 kids: Madie Lynn, John Andrew & Emmett James
